A Campsite with Soul and History.
In 1975 Lis and Erik Uglvig Madsen founded Sandager Næs Camping. Back then, the site was not much more than a camping permit, a couple of toilets and a joint shower. Campers came in small caravans, such as Europa, Corsar or Sprite, or with brown and orange tents. And the meals were cooked on portable stoves. Back then camping was a primitive way of holidaying.
The campsite increased in popularity and more and more guests decided to visit the site in the beautiful Danish nature surroundings. In time, the campsite developed and now hold all modern conveniences and luxuries.
The founders’ son Michael grew up at the campsite and his wife Trine worked at the site for seven seasons before the couple became hosts themselves.
-Camping has always been a big part of my life. There has always been an amazing atmosphere at this campsite, and Trine and I will do our very best to continue that, says Michael Uglvig Madsen. The parents are still part of the work force when needed.
-A lot has happened since then and we are always three steps ahead, says Michael Uglvig Madsen, who himself has a son and a daughter that can look forward to a childhood with the campsite as their playground and lots of friends to play with.
